| Today..........May 15, 2008 I recall Pastor Danny's sermon where he taught us this: All news is good news. All news is good news...at the time it seemed like a revelation. This new thought had been a source of joy for me for sometime, because it helped me remember God's sovereign hand. Today I read an article about two parents in China in the Sichuan province who lost their only daughter in the earthquake. They married late, and she was their one and only daughter, all they were allowed to have. When they finally found their daughter's body she had no fingernails...because she had tried to claw her way out. I see horrifying pictures on the news everyday...because of the earthquake that struck China twelve hours after I left that country. Is all news really good news? I pray, I pray with all my heart that somehow this could be good news...good news for people who are survivors who might open their hearts to Jesus. That through this tragedy God would come and move mightily through China and draw people to Himself. Lord, please have mercy on China | | |
| Ecclesiastes 7 1 A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth. 2 It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart. 3 Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart. 4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure. | | |

| Hi hi....
I got back last night. Man it was so nice to sleep in my own bed! Came home to more bday presents. Thanks to all who sent me e cards and emails and letters! How thoughtful.
I had a great trip. The english camp was a good experience too. Except for the moths and mosquitoes and other numerous, un-nameable bugs that invaded my room every night, the sweltering heat and no air con, as well as the crying brats that missed their mommies, I had a great time. Some of those kids were so adorable. Of course I liked the kids in other groups better than mine, cause I didn't have to be their mommy, but I guess if I were their mommy I would be annoyed at them too. After this camp I decided I defnitely should never be a mommy. I would be such a bad one. But on the other hand everyone liked Vu. He already got three emails from kids saying they miss him. He is actually a good daddy. He made going away presents for all his kids. There was one cute little boy who stuck to him like glue and at meal times he would throw away his trash and dirty dishes for him. aww. Vu told me that another boy wrote in his diary, "I love Vu so much!" haha.
All the teachers were from Canada and really knew nothing about Korea at all. I think they expected the kids to understand more english than was really possible. Which was a little frustrating. One time in class, the teacher was explaining instructions for about 15-20 minutes, the same thing over and over again. And all she got were blank stares and open mouths. She finally got frustrated and said, "Hel-loooww, is anybody home?" One kid raised his hand and said excitedly, "I'm home!"
I am going to try to have pics posted somewhere soon!
